Cold Facts 2014

Description

This is "Cold Facts 2014" by Marc Cornelissen on Vimeo, the home for high quality videos and the people who love them.

Flying out from Station Nord, Greenland a team of 6 scientists will work out of temporary camps on sea ice to gather validation data for ESA’s ice satellite ‘CryoSat 2’ and NASA’s ‘Ice Bridge Mission’. On the ground this collaborative effort involves scientists from: York University of Canada, University College London and the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (US Army Corps of Engineers).

While acquiring data exactly under the track from ESA’s Cryosat2 satellite, airborne instruments will fly over in different airplanes. This part of the operation is managed from Station Nord and coordinated by scientists from the Technical University of Denmark.
