The WCRP “Grand challenges” are limited-term projects on important, cross cutting issues. They provide a focus on these topics and bridge different projects and groups within WCRP. Several of the WCRP grand challenges have a cryosphere component relevant to CliC, but “Cryosphere in a Changing Climate” is the most cryospheric focused one. In general CliC has a low visibility and is not very well known.
