MSparrow-SCAR Research-CliC relevant activities

Description

Five new SCAR Scientific Research Programmes have been approved from 2013. Three of these are of particular relevance to CliC:

  • Antarctic Climate 2100 (AntClim21): “Predictions of the future role and response of Antarctica to global change”
  • Past Antarctic Ice Sheet Dynamics (PAIS): “improving our understanding of ice sheet dynamics during past warm world conditions”
  • Solid Earth Response and influences on Cryosphere Evolution (SERCE): “Advance understanding of the interactions between the solid earth and the cryosphere, to better constrain ice mass balance and sea level change in a warming world “

Presented by Volker Rachold, International Arctic Science Committee, at the 9th CliC Scientific Steering Group meeting in Potsdam, Germany 2013.
